MES Updates
Posted Date: 9/10/25 (9:15 AM)
Good Morning MES Families,
Thank you to all families who communicated with us yesterday morning get students home safely for our emergency dismissal due to water issues. Here are some notes to share with you:
- Morrisonville Family School Organization (MFSO) - the first meeting of the school year is tonight, Wednesday 9/10, at 6:00pm in the Morrisonville Elementary School Library. Please join us if you're available! You'll be notified about monthly meetings and are welcome to join the MFSO at any point in the school year.
-
Morning Drop-Off- if you've dropped your child off in the morning at MES, you know that the parking lot and Sand Road are both very congested from about 7:15-7:25am. In order to help ensure a smooth drop-off process, as well as trying to maintain the flow of traffic on Sand Road, we would ask your help with the following:
- We ask that if your child is able to exit the vehicle independently that they do so (with adults remaining in the vehicle). The drop-off lane is intended for quick unloading of students.
- If your child requires adult assistance exiting the vehicle due to a car seat, an elevated step, or for other reasons, please park your vehicle in the lot (preferably to the right when you pull into the lot or in the middle two rows) so that you can help your child out of the vehicle and walk them to the sidewalk. Your assistance with this is appreciated to keep the quick drop-off lane flowing.
-
Please utilize the drop-off lanes to help ensure safety for all.
- Please refrain from pulling over on Sand Road and unloading at a place where your child would have to walk through the Bus Loop as this presents avoidable safety concerns.
- The Bus Loop should only be utilized for parent vehicles after 7:45am if a student is coming from an appointment as there are our district buses as well as some from another bus service that need to have access to the full bus loop.
- Water Bottles - We ask that your child is sent to school daily, and in particular this week, with a full water bottle. As we are under a boil water order this week, we will continue to have water available but students coming with full water bottles keeps students in class with less interruptions.
