Good Afternoon Morrisonville Elementary Students and Families,
We can’t wait to welcome our students to the 25/26 school year next week! We hope that this summer has been wonderful for each of you and that our students are feeling excited for a year of learning, growing, making and strengthening friendships, and so much more!
Open House
Wednesday, 9/3, from 4:30-5:30pm is our Open House! This is a great time to meet teachers and to ease some worries that students may have for the new school year.
- If your child has supplies, tissues, wipes, headphones, etc. to bring to school, Open House is a great time to bring those items so that there is less to worry about and carry on their first day.
- If your child takes medication (including inhalers) during the school day, you’re encouraged to bring medications and their documentation our School Nurse, Miss Shannon, during Open House. To administer medications (including inhalers) at school, we’re required to have a doctor’s note with this medication order. Students with inhalers will need an asthma action/care plan from their doctor or medical provider accompanying their inhaler.
- Kindergarten families have been contacted by teachers regarding their specific Open House time, please contact your child’s teacher with any questions you may have.
Transportation
As we look forward to the first day of school, we are hopeful that most of our students will be riding the bus to school. Please be patient as new routes details are ironed out and be sure to check out the Bus Right app for up-to-date information.
- For anyone who needs to drop their child off, please pull into the parking lot (as room allows) and join the line, remaining in cars until I invite students to exit vehicles (I’ll have a Stop/Go sign, you won’t miss me!). If you’re new to drop-off at MES, you’ll learn quickly that it is a very busy process and having as many students ride the bus as possible helps tremendously with the morning flow. When it is time for your car to unload, please have students ready to exit the right side of the vehicle as quickly as possible. We ask that adults remain in vehices and that families take their First Day of School pictures and give hugs at home to keep things moving at school. Your consideration and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Join the MES Team!
If you or someone you know who loves working with children is looking for work, please contact me! We still need many aides (working 7:20am-1:35pm) and a lunch monitor (working from about 10am-1pm) to help our school run as safely and effectively as possible. If you are interested and available and want to be part of our amazing school, please consider this your call to action! Applications can be found
